Amanda and Clayton's Story
We
met in Mississippi when I was 14 and he was 15.
Clay was dating a close friend of mine.
When I met him there was an obvious attraction,
almost to the
point where I couldn't speak.
I never confessed my this to anyone, because I didn't want
to hurt my friend.
Many years passed, and I was living in Ohio with my father, involved in
a relationship with a nice guy,
but I knew he wasn't my Soulmate.
One
day I got an instant message on my computer,
and it was Clay.
We hadn't had any contact in over 4 years.
The online communication started out friendly,
but it wasn't long before we both started feeling that there was a reason he found me.
We talked on the phone, corresponded through snail mail, exchanged
pictures, and gifts.
He admitted that he had been attracted to me so many
years before.
It was obvious
that I couldn't remain in my current relationship
with the feelings I was developing for Clay.
Clay
purchased me an airplane ticket to come visit him in North Carolina(where
he was working for the summer).
We both had to know if this was just an internet infatuation,
or more.
The minute I walked off the plane,
we both knew.
It was one of the most amazing moments of my life.
I was scared before
I got there,
but once I was in his arms,
everything that had gone wrong
in my life seemed to disappear.
The
week that followed was magnificent.
When it came time for me to fly back to
Ohio it was torture.
We both
knew we wanted a future together.
The question
was, how and when?
I still lived at home with my father,
and Clay was
in college at Mississippi State University.
Less than 2 weeks after I got
back,
we decided we couldn't live apart.
I was going to move to Mississippi
to be with him.
I had a semester of college that I had to finish,
but the plans were underway.
January of 1998, I packed up my car with Clay's help and we drove to Starkville, Mississippi where we lived for the next 2 and a half years.
Clay graduated college this past May, and got a job in Arkansas. We are to be married on August 12, 2000, our 3 year anniversary as united Soulmates.
I
look forward to our future together.
We hope to start a family in a couple of
years.
I know that no matter what comes our way,
as long as we have each
other, we will thrive.
